Off the clock

Married with two grown up sons, Paul enjoys cycling, gardening, chess, travelling, films, and football. These pastimes keep him busy, and balanced, when he’s not working with clients.

My proudest moment as a financial planner was:

Successfully mediating with an insurer, on behalf of a deceased client, in support of a claim, which – under the letter of the law – could otherwise have been rejected.

The three things I love most about my job are:

Building long-standing relationships built on mutual trust, finding solutions that make a difference to people’s financial lives, and the fact that every day is different!

If you could have dinner with any historical figure, who would it be?

Mohammed Ali.

If you could master any skill instantly, what would it be?

The piano.

What’s a destination still on your bucket list?

The Galapagos Islands.

What’s a film or TV series you never get tired of watching?

Film would be Gladiator, series would be either House or Wolf Hall.

What’s a fun fact about you that surprises people?

I won a bonnie baby competition when I was 9 months old.
